On a roll today. Two uploads in one day? Woot! Modest Mouse gets a pretty straight electronicification of my favourite track of theirs Float On. It floats on all right.

In the spirit of the Beatles remastered box sets, I thought I’d provide you with a remastered classic as well. Monophobe, my previous band, was/is a collaboration with song writer Angelo Cannavo, a stable of guest vocalists and myself. Adhering to no particular genre we would mix pop, rock and electronica before it was fashionable to do so.
Nothing Here was one of our final collaborations before I headed for Australia. It is an unassuming sweet pop song laid on top of some of a beat composed of pure noise (tracked chiptune style on an old module-based music tracker).
Here in a much improved master is a song that I feel should have gotten a bit more attention than it did when we made the demo in 2004.

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (GenErik’s Awake Remix)
Remixing Passion Pit probably is tantamount to blasphemy in many circles. Nevertheless, I have taken a crack at it. Pumping beats, keeping in the spirit of Passion Pit’s experimental sound, but with a little less pop and a lot more pump.
